Crockpot Turkey Chili Recipe

If you are a fellow Midwesterner, you know just how cold it has been the past several weeks. Yesterday we got about 7 inches of snow and Andrew and I spent all day cuddled under blankets trying to stay warm!

During the colder months, one of my favorite dishes to make is chili! Not only does it warm me up inside but its easy to make, is an excellent leftover meal, and makes my house smell AMAZING! Today I’m sharing my all time favorite turkey chili with you all that is super simple because the crockpot does most of the work!

This version is loaded with lots of beans and spices to give it a bold, chunky texture. Turkey is a great lean meat option but you can feel free to use ground beef instead or even leave out the meat for a vegetarian option!

If you don’t have time to let this chili simmer in the crockpot, you can also combine on the stove and simmer for 25-35 minutes uncovered. I personally think the flavors are richer from slowcooking in the crockpot but if you’re in a pinch, the stovetop version is super delicious as well!

Make sure to taste as you’re cooking. Chili is one of those meals where everybody has their own desired level of heat. I like mine medium spicy so I make sure to add a few generous shakes of cayenne. I also opted to use pre-seasoned beans for a little extra kick of chili flavor.

Any leftovers can be stored for 3-4 days in the refrigerator. You can also freeze and save the rest for another cold week!

Happy eating and stay warm!

XO-Sarah
