Made for Kids, Worn By Women - Two Scoops of Style

Okay real talk: How many of you petite ladies out there have ventured into the kid’s section before but felt too embarrassed to actually try anything on? Or you just had no idea what to look for that might fit you? Sure, sometimes the women’s department doesn’t have styles small enough for us, but that doesn’t mean that it’s an easy transition back to the kid’s clothes. We’re women and we deserve to have clothes that fit our womanly bodies. But that doesn’t mean they have to come from a grouping of clothes in the department store with a plastic sign hanging over it saying WOMEN. If we find a cute item, go ahead! Try it on! Whether it says Boy’s or Women’s or Men’s, it’s all in your toolbox.

My top 3 stores for finding awesome kid’s section finds are GAP, Old Navy, and Target (because they rule the world.) They carry kid’s sizing all the way up to XXL which, tbh, can sometimes even be too big. If you’re a more curvy lady and think clothes from the kid’s section will never fit your beautiful curves, all of these stores provide girl’s “Plus” options which I find often just give more room in the hips/chest. Little girls don’t have those yet, but we do and we can still rock those cute styles! These options often come in the exact same print as looks in the women’s section, but are made for petite ladies AND are cheaper since they require less material! Could there be a better combo?! At 5ft 2, I’m a regular girl’s section shopper, and once I found out how amazingly the pieces fit, how stylish they are, and how no-one in the street even cares or realizes what department I’m shopping in, I was SOLD!
