Fall Photo Shoot Ideas: Play With Pumpkins
You’ve probably seen a lot of pumpkins on your feed by now but that’s because they’re so fun to pose with! They’re a great “statement piece” and you can feature them in lots of different ways. Try swinging your pumpkin, surrounding yourself in a pumpkin patch, even balancing one on your head! Fall is about being playful so don’t be afraid to get in touch with your silly side.
Fall Photo Shoot Ideas: Head to a Cidermill/Orchard
Living in the Midwest and east coast means there and pretty much endless orchards and cider mills around! Growing up we had 4 cider mills in town! These venues are the perfect place to play. Throw on your coziest pieces and capture moments wandering through a corn maze, taking a hayride, or just hanging out with friends.
Pro Tip: Orchards and cider mills often have multiple “shoot locations” and are a great place to batch content. Make an afternoon of it by bringing 3-5 outfits and taking pictures for the week ahead. Don’t forget to show your support by purchasing some cider and donuts!
Fall Photo Shoot Ideas: Fall Flowers are your Friend
Just because summer is over doesn’t mean you can’t still use flowers as props! Buy a few bouquets of golden sunflowers or mums for props. You can use them later as fall decorations! Often you can even find pots of these bright colored flowers around town. Keep you eye out for these spots and take a quick picture on your phone to remember where these locations are for later!
Fall Photo Shoot Ideas: Feature Fall Foods
Fall is notoriously a season of sweet treats and indulging. Use your morning PSL or donut as a fun picture prop! Our followers love playful food pictures and we always end up having great conversations about our favorite fall treats.
Pro Tip: When posing with food we find that holding it at chest level is a great option. Often actual eating “action shots” can get messy. (Especially if you need to do more than one take and your donut is already gone!) You can even cover an eye with your favorite fall sweet for a carefree shot.
Fall Photo Shoot Ideas: Carry Some Decor With You
When all else fails, don’t be afraid to bring your favorite fall props and decor with you on a shoot. This can include wreaths, pumpkins, candles, banners, and so much more!
Pro tip: Head to the Dollar Store or Target Dollar Spot to find some cute, inexpensive options!
